Albany Creek Kids is a small privately owned centre in the heart of Albany Creek, where learning is inspired by the dreams of children. They offer care 52 weeks a year, Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 6.30pm, excluding public holidays. The centre has four rooms, catering for children from 6 weeks to school age, and an out of school hours program for siblings attending Albany Creek State School. Casual care and vacation care is also available, vacancies permitting. Fees are inclusive of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. All meals are prepared fresh daily in The Albany Creek Kids kitchen. For those extra busy mornings, breakfast is available from the Breakfast Club which operates from 6.30am to 7.30am each day. All consumables such as nappies, wipes, sunscreen and tissues are also included in the fees. Albany Creek Kids complies under the National Quality Standards and follows the Early Years Learning Framework.
Government approved Kindy program at Albany Creek Kids
Albany Creek Kids provides a Government approved Kindergarten program with a Qualified Early Childhood teacher 5 days a week. The curriculum follows the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines and Early Years Learning Framework. As part of the program children will have their own ABC Reading Eggs account which will form part of their literacy program. The Kindergarten is fitted out with all the latest technology including interactive whiteboard, iPads, a hearing centre and light board. All rooms are air conditioned and are equipped with an abundance of resources to ensure a stimulating and safe environment.
Albany Creek Kids Curriculum
The Albany Creek Kids curriculum begins in the nursery and continues to expand as children develop a love of learning together with the educators. Educators form respectful relationships with children and families embracing individuality and celebrating culture.
Extra-curricular activities
Extra-Curricular activities at Albany Creek Kids include the Kids Fit program run by Natasha, the centre’s very own personal trainer. This program assists with children’s agency and wellbeing, and includes fitness classes and healthy eating discussions. From 2.5 years your child can also take part in weekly swimming lessons at Albany Creek Leisure centre. Children love the bus trip and lessons with their friends. The lessons are conducted by qualified swim instructors who not only teach the children to swim but visit the centre with Daisy Duck to teach all children about water safety.
Outdoor play at Albany Creek Kids
The outdoor environment includes a water park, vegetable gardens and an outdoor classroom. During the hot summer days children are able to cool off in our very own water park. The gardens are not only fun to water and watch grow, they are a learning experience for children. Children learn about what plants need to grow and are able to conduct taste tests and see the food used in cooking lessons.
The Albany Creek Kids community
Your child’s development and learning is documented in a personal journal for you to treasure in years to come. No year is ever complete without a Christmas Party and the Kindergarten Graduation. During the final week of the term we officially farewell our Kindergarten children. Families join us to watch as Graduates receive their Certificates and perform their favourite songs for one last time.
